Which way the wind blows

When we did the scene in the script where the Stranger arrives in Japan via boat, we were hindered by the lack of wind.  If you ever see the film you will be able to see that the sails are going in the opposite direction of the boat.  This was caused by the fact that we had to tow the boat.

I loved Tony’s idea of having no sub titles he wanted the audience to experience what an english speaking cowboy would experience if he arrived in Japan from the old west and didn’t speak Japanese..
